Some time ago, I stumbled onto a web site that explains shifts in the
Earths magnetic field, complete with an animation of the process. Anyone
else see anything like that?
As I recall it was about how the core "sloshes" - for lack of a better
word. That changes the way the field is generated, resulting in an
eventual full flip (due about 6000 years from now, as I recall).
In a related vein, anyone know where I might find the declination (for
the St. Louis area) for the past several years? I understand it has been
decreasing.
