[GeoStL] Legal Descriptions into GPS Coordinates

Does anyone know how, or if there is a program or service that turns
a legal description of property into coordinates?
Would this be something a surveyor would do in person or possibly
work from the paperwork?
This is one of those burning questions that I probably could answer by
making a few phone calls. But, it's 11:30 pm and I told Tom, "I'll
bet someone on the geocache list knows this - someone on that list has
an answer or a resource for some of the most astounding things."
LOL
Anyway -- we want to figure out the coordinates for our property
from one of those mysterious legal descriptions that starts out
something like . 300' feet from a pile Township 41, Section 6, 300
feet south of mark is a pile of rocks near a road, from there commence
217.3 ft south at a bearing of ...
We know where the rocks are LOL...
