I mentioned to a few today that asked about logging the finds of the temporary
event caches that we had this new cache someone set up just for logging
temporary event caches. This LOTEC (Logs Only for Temporary Event Caches) cache
page can be found here
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=gckv75 .

I don't remember if I picked this info up from this email list or if the cache
showed up in My weekly new cache listing or just where I go it but it exists.

Since this has been implemented the idea is to log the event cache page for the
fact that you attended the actual event, then log the LOTEC cache page for each
of the temporary caches you found at an event. The LOTEC page will be used for
many future events and is set up as an archived cache so it might be easier to
book mark the page because it won't appear in normal searches unless you search
for archived caches. The LOTEC page describes this process as well.

Regardless of where it's logged it still counts towards you total finds. But by
logging them as caches and not events it doesn't make it look like someone to
an abnormally large number of events when they look at there stats.

Hope this helps those of you that asked about it. I saw that several people
have already logged once for each cache on the event page but it won't truly
hurt anything.

Sara
