Yes it does. But the US basemaps will always be there.

The mapsource maps will overlay previous mapsource maps, even if some of the
8 meg memory is still available. In other words, say you have St. Louis maps
loaded and they take up 4 meg. Then you decide to add the Rolla area and it
takes 1 meg. If you just load the Rolla maps, that will be the only map
available, and you'll still have 7 meg free. If you want the St. Louis maps
and Rolla maps in the GPS, they must be loaded all together. Again, all the
highlevel US maps will always be there.
