Hats off to Jeff for the way he engaged the Conservation dept. and Hats off
to you too Nancy for following up and working with Tom. Great story! I can't
wait to see some more caches out there. Just keep your head down during
hunting season!

Mike

Subject: [GeoStL] Bluebeadman's St. Stanislaus' Caches Kudos on Paperwork

Columbia Bottoms and Bellefontaine Conservation Areas regarding geocache
placement.
> I went into the new Visitor and Education Center at Columbia Bottoms,
introduced myself and asked about geocaching. Tom Leifield, the manger is
very open cache placement. We chatted for a few minutes and he encouraged me
to figure out a way to tie in conservation, nature etc in the placement and
to especially discuss this in the paperwork in requesting placement. Without
a mention from me, HE volunteered that someone recently just did a good job
of placement at St. Stanislaus and did a GREAT (his emphasis) job on the
paperwork in requesting the placement. He even called Bluebeadman by his
real name (LOL). He went on to say that Jeff (May I call you Jeff? lol)
talked about getting people out to the areas and onto the trails and how a
geocache might bring new people out to new areas.

(similar to St. Stanislaus -- which we haven't "officially done but hubby
has scoped out) at Columbia Bottoms, we'd be willing to "share" -- it's a
BIG, BIG place.
