Congratulations Jim! It's unfortunate that there aren't more ways to keep
track of and recognize the steadfast contributors to the "hobby". I think
anyone who does even just one of your caches comes away with not only an
appreciation of the environment you've introduced them to, but also
recognizes that you've put a little extra into guiding the cacher to some
place that is so worthy of appreciation. Your caches are truly "signature".
We were once travelling home through Southern Illinois with no time to
cache, but I was scrolling through pages on GSAK when one cache caught my
eye. (Of course now I can't remember which one). I read it out loud to the
hubby and he said what I was thinking, "Good grief that sounds like
something that Myotis guy would do." Turns out that that Myotis guy HAD
placed it lol.
At least 5000 times a life has been directly influenced by something you've
done. That's a bit hard to wrap your mind around really. That has to be
good for the cosmic karma!
Unless you're talking to my daughter -- she still harbors a .. ahem ..
"special" place in her heart for a couple of Myotis caches and time spent
on a VERY hot summer day with dad with plenty of water but shortage of
restrooms. Yeah ... maybe not the exact kind of Karma you'd be looking
for, but memorable none-the-less. And, that was 3-4 years ago when she just
7-8 yrs old -- to say you've made an impact would be an understatement.
That was a life-long memory!
