Financial Issues
A week ago, I asked for feedback on this
newsgroup about how we should finance
the picnic. One person responded. I am
somewhat disappointed, since we have
70 members. I know that membership
doesn't come with any responsibility,
except what ever you want to bring to
the group to make it better.
There was much discussion in the picnic
committe about charging $5/family, but
because we couldn't make a decision,
there won't be a fee. This time.
Luckily, based on the level of donation
money on the SLAGA ledger, we don't
need to charge an attendance fee. This
is mostly because of a recent and very
generous donation from one of our
members.
However, because of the cost of the
park shelter, meat and prizes for this
picnic, any future SLAGA-sponsored
event will require more donations or
an attendance fee. (Feel free to talk
about this issue with me or others at
the picnic.)
Our treasurer, Island-Dave will gladly
accept donations before, during and
after the picnic.
