Action & Advisory Committee. They advise city council on matters that
affect the downtown.
Big thanks once again to Melissa who prepared the presentation and set up
the meeting! It was a really fruitful discussion with the committee
members, who loved the idea and voted to support our request to council.
Councillors Sarah Marsh and Debbie Chapman also sit in on the committee,
but do not vote.
Some suggestions included:
- focus on making Gaukel more of a "plaza" than a greenway
- kiosk vendors in the middle of the street
- lots of seating
- shaded areas
All in all, a very successful evening :)
We are still waiting on a final word from the city about whether we'll be
able to speak at the council meeting this Monday. I'll let you all know if
we get on the agenda!
