Brothers,
I would just like to say THANK YOU for the outpouring of support that I
received today from so many of you! God has blessed me tremendously over the
years by granting me good health and He has also given me the wisdom that to be
attuned to my body when it’s telling me something. What started with episodes
of being out of breath after exerting very little energy, it was obvious that
something was wrong with my body. I didn’t wait for more serious symptoms. I
didn’t go to my primary care physician which would’ve taken probably a week
with various tests from various doctors to get to the root of things. I went
STRAIGHT to ER where they ran a battery of tests within 2 hours and had
diagnosed the issue.
In two hours they checked:
* Blood Pressure
* Covid
* Blood Test
* EKG
* Xray of lungs
In what may have taken days, they quickly diagnosed me with mild
pneumonia/anemia and provided an immediate treatment of antibiotics that should
have me back to normal in 3 to 4 days.
I said all of this to say, please please do not delay when your body is telling
you something. We as black men are susceptible to high blood pressure,
diabetes, colon/prostate cancer and heart disease. Go get that heart stress
test. Go get that colonoscopy. Yep the old banana in the tailpipe!!! Go get
the full blood tests to make sure you’ll be around for your family and most
importantly, for the work that God has for each and every one of you.
