On Saturday, May 20, 1950, 9 men at Grambling College of Louisiana were
initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. thus establishing the Gamma
Psi Chapter. Seventy years later, we commemorate that historic day and give
deference to our charter members who are all now Chapter Invisible.
Those men were:
Edward L. Adams
Curtis J. Armand
Wickliff Bassett
Louis J. Davis
Edward M. Johnson
Lucius W. Martin
Zettie L. Moore
Isaac C. Porter
William D. Warren
Since that time, over 500 brothers have been initiated into the Gamma Psi
Chapter. We remain committed to our fundamental purpose of achievement as
established by the fraternity's revered founders and the idea of fraternal
brotherhood they embodied.
An idea suggested by a few brothers was participation in a web video
conference on this Sunday, May 24th as a celebration of this milestone. The
goal would be to reconnect, discuss some possible upcoming projects and
discuss the 75th anniversary. We are investigating how to make that happen
and will pass on the details as soon as we get confirmation.
