[fx.php_list] A question about uploading files in PHP on a Linux box

I need to write an upload script for a website that’s hosted on a Linux box. 
I’ve done this lots of times on Mac servers, and the path looks something like 
this:

/Library/WebServer/Documents/clientname/admin/uploads/

That’s the whole path to the "uploads" folder, after the HD itself. 

On a Linux box, would it be the same (the whole path minus the actual HD’s 
name)?

If anyone has written one of these little scripts for a Linux web server, your 
help would be much appreciated.
