Minimum qualifications

  1.  Master of Library Science or equivalent degree from an American Library 
Association accredited institution.
  2.  Eight years of progressively responsible library experience, three years 
of which must be higher-level supervisory experience, preferably including a 
position as a director or assistant director of a public library.
  3.  Evidence of leadership roles in local, state, or national library or 
civic organizations.
  4.  Evidence of extensive human resources training and experience.

General information
The Neenah Public Library Board of Trustees seeks a library director to plan, 
direct, and coordinate municipal library activities, services, and personnel. 
Staff of 47 (23 FTE permanent staff plus 13 temporary staff positions) plus 100 
volunteers serving a service area population of 50,000 from a 50,000 sq. ft. 
building built in 2000. Operating budget for 2013 is $1.9 million. Circulation 
was 929,634 for 2011, program attendance was 22,333. Neenah Public Library is 
one of 30 member libraries of the five-county Winnefox Library System.

Background check and psychological evaluation

  1.  Before an offer is made to a candidate, a complete background check shall 
be required.
  2.  Upon a contingent offer of employment, a psychological evaluation of the 
candidate shall be required.

Residency requirement
The library director must live within a 20 mile radius of the City of Neenah 
Administration Building within 180 days of appointment.
