FSMI is the premier organisation working for the use, popularisation and
dissemination of Free Software, Open technology and the commons. What began
as a drive to spread the use of Free Software has today become an umbrella
organisation comprising 16 sectoral and technical organisations that reach
out to 1000’s of students every year.
FSMI's 2nd National Convention named as 4CCon (Collaboration, Contribution,
Communities & Commons) is set to happen at the end of this month (January
26-28, 2017).
The first day (Jan 26) is dedicated towards technical hands-on workshop
covering topics from programming languages, 3D/2D Designing and modelling,
FreeGIS and Mapping, basic electronics to advanced open hardware concepts,
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, etc.

The next two days (Jan 27 & 28) are dedicated towards presentations, talks,
discussions, debates on the following themes.
1. Software: Coding Freedom
2. Governance: The Digital Turn
3. Networks: Ending Discrimination
4. Commons: Opening Up Knowledge
5. Contribution: Thinking Beyond Code
6. Gender: Diversity & Inclusion
7. Community: Secret & Success
