[fsug-calicut] strange problem in installing lenny

yesterday i tried to install lenny in hp Xserver. but the login screen is
not visible even though the beep sound is coming... the terminal prompt is
working fine... Unais ka told me to use the command *dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xorg*.... But this command is not working properly in lenny.... Then
I tried jaunty, it is working cool..... But the customer need debian.
Pls help me in solving this problem.....
