[fsug-calicut] block sites from accessing

how can i block sites from accessing.........
i tried using squid, but it is not working.....\
*acl blocksites url_regex "/etc/squid/squid-block.acl"
http_access deny blocksites
*and created a file */etc/squid/squid-block.acl* and added some sites like
www.orkut.com to it. but it is not working........
is there any way to block sites using iptables............????
