Sorry for the delay in mailing the minutes.
We had a meeting to discuss the future activities/plans for FSUG Calicut
and the technology community in Calicut, in general. The meeting started
by around 4.30PM on Saturday, 2nd September at Mananchira square. Though
we expected a small participation, 8 people joined.
The main agenda was to reboot FSUG-Calicut and technology related
meetups in Calicut, along with the celebration of upcoming Software
Freedom Day on 16th September.
We decided to host an half day event either in Calicut Poly Technic
College or WestHill Engineering College, based on the availability.
The main focus is on beginners to free software, especially GNU/Linux,
as its a celebration and hopefully we could gather attention of more
people. After celebration, we plan to do a demo of different Desktop
Environments available in GNU/Linux distributions.
We also planned to conduct regular meetings, targeting specific
audience, every month, possibly second Saturday in any location
available and also plan to associate with GUG (Google User group), which
seems to be the active community in Calicut, along with other IT
companies interested, for venue and visibility.
