Good afternoon FRTM!
Our meeting last night was replete with New Years’ shenanigans and even a
little money.
It was a jammed packed meeting all managed with humor and grace by our
Toastmaster, Richa Acharya.
Our three leading men took the stage and graced us with fabulous story
telling.
We learned about Lafayette, King George VI and conversations with Alan’s
daughter.
Well done Jonathan, Robin and Alan. In the end it was a tie for best
speaker between Jonathan and Alan. I’m convinced it would have been a
three way tie if Robin had made his time.
First time Table Topics Master, Jason Marine, slayed it with his New Years’
themed questions.
Some of my favorites:
· Pattie Apple’s biggest time waster of 2017? Well, it’s pulling
weeds … they always come back.
· Ray Pezolt’s best advice in 2017? You don’t lose until you quit!
· Dirk Kittredge’s take on the biggest news event of 2017? Why,
it’s when the FRTM headlines read, “Jason Marine joins FRTM!” That and
Pathways J
· Bill Farrand gets the blue ribbon and wins Table Topics by
opening up his heart and telling us about his girlfriend Michelle. From
curmudgeon to knowing love
and affection indeed!
The meat of the meeting was led by our General Evaluator, Kathy Barrett.
Kathy used a very systematic method for her GE portion of the meeting …
just like a great speech she told us what she was going to do and then she
delivered.
I was impressed by all three evaluators. Ray, Katelynn and Pattie each
gave well-rounded evaluations with specific examples and even spoke about
stage use and gestures. Beating out the competition was Katelynn Stoll!

NEWS AND TIDBITS:
1. F5 (Yes that is us!) has a brand new Area Director. Look for John
Lind to visit our happy group in the near future.
2. Officer Inductions will happen next Thursday January 11th
3. Toastmasters Leadership Institute is January 13, 2018 …. Did you
know IT IS FREE and ya’ll can attend even if you’re not an officer? Go to

4. FRTM earned a $ 25.00 reward for having ALL seven officers trained
last TLI – Thank you Laria Lovec, Foothills Division Director and thank you
FRTM
Officers for getting your training completed. Let's do it again
January 13th.
5. Can anyone guess which FRTM Member was surprised over Christmas and
now sports a new ring on her ring finger? **She said YES**
6. Did you know our Greeter, Jeff Stoll, is also a movie addict? I bet
if you asked him you could meet him at the theatre almost any Tuesday night.
My goal for 2018 is to accomplish the goals of 2017, which I should have
done in 2016 because I promised them in 2015 and planned them in 2014.
You really should have been there …. it was a great meeting and in the
usual FRTM style, it involved everyone that was there.
