My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Please do advertise the day
anywhere you can. We never know who is coming and so don’t need any advance
notice of anyone turning up. They just need to dress for the weather, wear
sensible boots/shoes and bring a packed lunch if they’re staying for the day

about your volunteer day or put it on our facebook page without your

Dear All

We have a volunteer task scheduled for 23rd June, 10am-3pm and I am painfully
aware that I have not contacted you about this as yet! I am so sorry to have
left it so late.

My plan for the day is to make and install some very simple benches in a few
areas around the field margins and I wondered if any of the group had any
thoughts about this; good/bad idea, placement etc? Depending on how many people
come, we may also be building some hibernacula. Essentially this involves
digging a hole, filling it with logs and covering it back over. This provides
the perfect winter hibernation area for reptiles and amphibians and will be
placed down near the stream.

I recently had an email from Kasia at the Borough Council regarding stream
clearance work and I wondered if you would be able to give me more of an idea
of what you were thinking, i.e. is there a lot of litter in the stream that
needs clearing or were you thinking more about vegetation? I would be very
happy to organise a weekend task if this is something the Friends would be
interested in.
