Hi Helen,
Not to worry. It’s the same for most of us.
Best wishes,
Jennie

Dear Jennie
Great news that Sarah & team are planning to spend a day at the field. Her
suggestions sound good to me. Steve & I would like to help out on one of these
volunteer days, but sadly we are both working next week so can’t make it.
Please pass on our apologies.
Best wishes

Subject: [friendsofsjpm] High Weald Parternship Day
Hi All,
I am forwarding an email from Sarah Tree at the High Weald Partnership. I am
planning to go along in the morning, but I am working in the afternoon. We
could perhaps have a discussion about the stream at the same time. She is
asking about benches (rustic) in the meadows. What do people think?
“We have a volunteer task scheduled for 23rd June, 10am-3pm and I am painfully
aware that I have not contacted you about this as yet! I am so sorry to have
left it so late.
My plan for the day is to make and install some very simple benches in a few
areas around the field margins and I wondered if any of the group had any
thoughts about this; good/bad idea, placement etc? Depending on how many people
come, we may also be building some hibernacula. Essentially this involves
digging a hole, filling it with logs and covering it back over. This provides
the perfect winter hibernation area for reptiles and amphibians and will be
placed down near the stream.
I recently had an email from Kasia at the Borough Council regarding stream
clearance work and I wondered if you would be able to give me more of an idea
of what you were thinking, i.e. is there a lot of litter in the stream that
needs clearing or were you thinking more about vegetation? I would be very
happy to organise a weekend task if this is something the Friends would be
interested in.
Please do let me know your thoughts”
Best wishes,
Jennie
