Tom and I were talking about open source ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning, Basically an integrated accounting and inventory system). These are a few solutions that I have found. There are others but they either are dead/dormant (ie Linux-Kontor http://www.linux-kontor.org/en/), not available in English, very incomplete, or I couldn't find them. Mike FISTERRA is a project that aims to provide a generic Open Source ERP.(GPL) http://www.fisterra.org CK-Ledger (continued as CK-ERP) with 15 modules (Admin, Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Inventory, Service, AP, AR, PO, SO, Quotation, POS-Cashier, POS-Mgr, HR, Staff Self Service, Payroll) runs atop phpGW & offers accounting/backoffice features to SMEs. (GPL) http://sourceforge.net/projects/ck-ledger http://ck-ledger.sourceforge.net/ Compiere is an Open Source ERP solution based on Oracle which has been sponsored by Goodyear Germany. The Compiere License is based on the Mozilla Public License (MPL) Version 1.1 and the Netscape Public License (NPL) http://www.compiere.org/ SQL-Ledger is a double entry accounting system. Accounting data is stored in a SQL Server, for the display any text or GUI browser can be used. The entire system is linked through a chart of accounts. Each item in inventory is linked to revenue, expense, inventory and tax accounts. When items are sold and purchased the accounts are automatically updated.
