You have 7 different categories, things like Race, Social Class, Skills, Advantages etc. You prioritise each one, and the higher the priority the more points you get. Race is something like: A: High elf B: Elf C: Half elf D: Magical human E-G: Standard human So, if you wanted the magical advantages of being a high elf, you need to stick Race in your Priority A slot. This means though that you can't stick, say, Skills as priority A, or social class as priority A. Skills, advantages, weapon packages are done on a straight point rating. So skills might be: A: 40pts B: 30pts C: 25pts D: 20pts E: 16pts F: 12pts G: 9pts -- Be seeing you, Sam.
