The format is described in [0] (section {3}). It's by default uncompressed.
Also, according to the Internet [1], there is a stardict2txt tool.

Freedict used the DICT(d) platform without direct modifications. I am
not sure what exactly the history of stardict was, but I think it

extending Freedict export range, the exact answer may be hidden in
