Hi everyone-

We had a CO poisoning case that the Toxicologists were talking about last week.
The COHb result was >60% and the CO had been made with chemicals. Then this
article was in the news: Man gets life for poisoning grandma for selling family ;
farm

This is like when there was an outbreak (maybe about 10 years ago) of people
using a sulfur containing product with an acid to create hydrogen sulfide. Take
home message: Elevated COHb with no clear CO source (e.g., fire, running engine
in confined non-ventilated space, etc.) may be due to the mixing of sulfuric
and formic acids.
