[foxboro] using 4-wire transmitters w/ FBM201

Hello everyone,

We are going to be installing some 200-series FBMs soon and this is our first
experience with the new style modules.

Looking at the wiring diagrams in the Foxboro document PSS 21H-2Y4 B3 (figure
5-5), the wiring scheme for an I/A-powered transmitter (i.e. 2-wire) makes
sense. But we have some 4-20mA signals that get their power elsewhere (i.e.
4-wire), and there is not a physical DC source in the loop connected to the FBM.
In this case, the Foxboro tech support people say to wire the transmitter's
positive terminal to the FBM201's negative terminal (as in figure 5-5, just
ignoring the external power supply). This just doesn't seem to make sense and
the fellow I talked to at Foxboro didn't seem real confident in his answer.

So, you folks out there who have used the FBM201, how did you terminate the
wires for transmitters/signals not powered by the I/A module? A plain-jane
question but I just want get some confirmation.
