Congratulations Jack.
I think it's going to be a while before I'm able to retire. Unless that guy
from Nigeria finally sends the money he promised.
Enjoy having time to do what you want to do.
And we'll still be here, so if you every crave some controls talk late at
night, just post something about how much better Solaris is, sit back and watch
the sparks fly.

Retiring at year end (I know, not as dramatic as Mr. Caliel's temporary loss).
Just wanted to tell you how much I have appreciated all you and the gang
(Jeremy/Duc/etc) have done with the Cassandra site, the presentations at
Foxboro Users Meetings, and this list. Sincerely!
Just send any retirement presents (T-shirts, calendars, or something) by way of
the Gulf Coast as I plan to be there (somewhere) in a kayak more than at home.

I had heard a rumor that this was going to happen, and now I see an official
looking announcement.

Invensys plc announces the appointment of Michael J (Mike) Caliel as President
and CEO of Invensys Operations Management with effect from 1 January 2012.
I have always thought it was a big loss to Invensys when Mr. Caliel left, and I
could not be happier to see him coming back. I think this bodes well for those
of us using the Foxboro and Wonderware product lines, and would like to take
this opportunity to welcome Mike back and tell him I look forward to seeing him
at future events.
(That ought to be worth at least a T-shirt, or calendar or something.)
