Hi Rick,
If you are using FoxView, then you can use the 'link bitmap' feature.
If you're using it as the background, once everything is right, I would
recommend turning detect off via 'Object menu -> Detect -> Off'.

Importing the bitmap:
FoxDraw: Object menu -> Link Bitmap -> User Bitmaps
You'll need to convert the *.bmp to a *.i file, and put it in the
/opt/customer/displib/Bitmaps path

There's a few limits on the number of colours etc, so you may have to
downscale the palette first. On windows, you can just use a straight .bmp
file, however on solaris, foxdraw should automatically convert it to a .i file
when you first try to import it.

Subject: [foxboro] Use jpg or bmp as a screen background?

All-knowing List:

Forgive my ignorance, but is there a way to use a .jpg or .bmp file as the
background to a screen? I would like to superimpose the readouts/alarms
of gas detectors in a plant over their actual locations using an aerial
photo of the plant...

I know how to convert an .fdf to a .bmp for use as a thumbnail, but not
vice-versa.
