Good luck getting Foxboro to do that... I bought a box off the net and
contacted Foxboro to see what they would charge to make it Foxboro "Holy".
Didn't take them very long at all to say "NOT".

Subject: [foxboro] Sun's list of Solaris 8 compatible hardware

I snatched this from the following link
http://docs.sun.com/db/doc/806-6513-10/6jfeut77g?a=view[1]
The upgrades on some of the machines do require an EPROM upgrade, but I'm
notsure which those are exactly. The only Foxboro issued Sun boxes I do not
see on the list are the original TRUE 50 series platforms, the AP50 and WP50
(the ipc and ipx models). I'm not sure how many of those boxes are still in
service. I think most of them were replaced by the SPARCclassic when the
first 51 series stuff was shipping. Another note, unlike Microsoft OSes,
some of the pieces of the newer software from SUN actually run faster than
the older software it replaced, even on the old hardware (and some of the
pieces are slower). Of course it would be a good idea to upgrade to a bit
more modern processor if possible. The equivalent to Foxboro's D &E boxes
are very cheap on the used market right now. Maybe Foxboro should buy a
bunch, re-furbish them, guarantee them, and pass the savings on to you.

David
