Yes, probably asking for trouble. IT people generally don't understand
that you can't just unplug things even if by mistake. To many
people/groups involved in the same Fiber boxes has not worked very well
over time for us.

Subject: [foxboro] Sharing the Fiber Plant

We are in discussions with IT about how to structure our Fiber Plant. Our
policy in the past has been that DCS and Admin Networks are 100% isolated
from each other. We are considering allowing the two networks to share
fiber cables where some strands will be DCS dedicated and some will be
Admin. While the terminations would exist in the same LIU, they would be
separated and labeled (i.e. Top 6 strands are DCS, Bottom 6 are Admin).
Am I asking for trouble by allowing this sharing? What is everyone else
doing?

Thanks!
Dan
