In all probability, the underlying AIM*API is configured for 5000 tags. This is
controlled by the file (doing this by memory) /opt/aim/bin/aimapi.cfg. The
parameter of interest is maxobj. This is covered in the AIM*API manual.

You'll need to change the file. Stop your OPC client, stop your OPC server,
stop AIM*API, restart AIM*API, restart OPC server, restart OPC client. A reboot
is not required.

Subject: [foxboro] OPC problem for adding new points.

Dear All,
I am adding some points into OPC server; was unable to configure them
properly and came across the following situation:
   - No. of Points added : 16
   - Total OPC Points: 5200
   - OPC Points Quality in Matrikon OPC Explorer
      - GOOD: 5080 Tags
      - Bad, not connected: 120 Tags (Including new tags)

I'm curious as why it is not adding new points properly.
Things I've Tried:

   - Update rate for newly added tags: 10sec. Changed to 25Sec
   - Update rate for all tags: changed to 60 Sec
   - Deleted all the tags of OPC then reset the OPC service also rebooted
   the AW
   - Then added few new tags, but these are showing bad in Matrikon
explorer. But when adding the tags which was communicating good before are
still coming good in Matrikon; but when adding some other parameters of same
tags, they are showing 'Bad, not connected'.
   - Checkpoint all CPs and Gateways.
   - Executed Nodebus tests.

Details of our system:

   - CP60 Quantity 4
   - MG30 Quantity 5
   - CPs and GWs are hosted by P79 AW V7.1.1
   - OPC's AW IA Version 7.1.5
   - AIM*API Version 5.5.0
   - The OPC has unlimited points license.

Kindly suggest me the solution of this problem.

Regards,
Imran Waheed Butt
