Hi Ali, There are a few more important details to consider when loading new controls: You may need to copy sequence logic files from the UNIX machine. You need to compile the following block types: IND DEP MON EXC PLB Once the controls are in, refresh FoxSelect and look for blocks with the UNDEF status. You may need to perform <delete and undelete> on blocks or ECBs. If you have references to CP specific ECBs, you will need to modify the reference. Foxboro uses NutCracker which allows many of the old UNIX commands to function on the XP. Try following the steps listed below. Regards, Janet Parker Principal Applications Engineer SimSci-Esscor ---------------------------------------------------------------- Save Controls Open a VT local Navigate to /opt/fox/ciocfg/api Create a directory for the SaveAll (i.e., mkdir SaveAll_dir) Determine the station letterbug name Verify the ICC is closed Save the controls: save_all CP0001 SaveAll_dir In the above command replace CP0001 with your station letterbug name and SaveAll_dir with the location of the desired SaveAll directory Tar and compress the directory: tar -cvf SaveAll.tar SaveAll_dir compress SaveAll.tar Copy the SaveAll.tar.Z to a floppy or network and transfer it to the XP box in the directory d:/opt/fox/ciocfg/api (Perhaps insert a floppy and type tar cvf SaveAll.tar.Z /dev/fd0 Uncompress/un-tar the file: uncompress SaveAll.tar.Z tar -xvf SaveAll.tar You should see the SaveAll_dir Load the controls Verify the ICC is closed Open a command window Navigate to d:/opt/fox/ciocfg/api Type sh Type ./load_all CP0001 SaveAll_dir -----Original Message----- From: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Johnson Sent: Thursday, September 22, 2005 6:51 AM To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [foxboro] ICC database transfer Ali, Assuming 1) The two computers are not networked together and 2) The save-all will fit on one floppy without compression the easiest is to do the following. On the Unix box from a vt100 shell NOTE- CP0001 should be replaced by your CP letterbug. # mkdir /tmp/CP0001 # cd /opt/fox/ciocfg/api # save_all CP0001 /tmp/CP0001 insert a DOS formatted floppy in the Sun diskette drive # mount /pcfs # cp -r /tmp/CP0001/* /pcfs # sync # umount /pcfs Take the floppy to the XP box and do a regular load all from the floppy. Good luck. David >_________________________________________________________________ >Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
