Got a solution that is working now without restoring the backup tape but need
to replace the three files from default folder.
Replaced the HistQ.dat, HistQ.key and HistQ.db files under
/opt/fox/IABatch/IAB_01/HistQ from /opt/fox/IABatch/IAB_01/HistQ/.defultHistQ
(hidden folder). These three files sizes should be between non-zero value and
less than 1 KB each, file sizes grow when connectivity with batch server and
crystal report server snapped, file size more than 1 KB also terminate the
batch manager.
Best Regards

Subject: [foxboro] IABatch 8.1 : Error in Starting Environment Manager
Hi List
We have single node bus with IABATCH 8.1 running AW51G box with RAID5 drive,
node has 5 CP40As FT, one CP60FT and 6 WP51B boxes.
We are faced the problem of error in starting the environment manager (EM) -
see the attached picture IMG_1140. Closer look from the message dump showed
that AW rebooted randomly on its own earlier of unknown reason, then there was
no trouble restarting EM. After few reboots, now EM not starting permanently.
Following work around tried
1) Replaced the AW that is following random reboots.
2) Subsequently carried out proper shutdown and restart of the new AW with
RAID5. Not resolved.
3) Carried out the work around given in the IABatch trouble shooting guide
Not Resolved, see the attached picture (IMG_1144)
2k Subject: Unable to open Environment Display - it shows asterisks and
disappear.
Source: TAC
There are different reasons while Environment Display won't open on the Unix
box.
1. The Batch processes may be already running in the background. While in VT100
run ps -eaf | grep IAB if you see any batch processes running you need to kill
them.
2. Go to /opt/fox/IABatch/scripts and run go_AFBS, go_AFBOC, go_AFBCC
4) Checked and removed the core files present, time stamping of the files
different from problem time.
5) RAID5 physical appearance showed no fault, rebooting normally but EM not
restarting. Replaced with spare RAID5 and we could able to restart the EM.
Did I miss something or any sequence of trouble shooting. Appreciate your
suggestions and solutions to fix the removed RAID5, I haven't thought of
restoring back up tape yet.
Best Regards
