Alex,
Perhaps the software developers could make the same "coding error" for
FoxView to give users some of the functionality that they prefer.

Marco is correct. In fact, I was told once that the DM's behavior
allowing a display directly as a button is actually the result of a
coding error not an intended feature.

Dwayne,

There are some subtle differences in how Foxview does menubars in
Solaris and Windows.
Foxview on a Windows platform does not allow references to fdf displays
directly in the top bar.
You need to make a menu file with at least one display.

I have seen it on Foxview 9.0x but it probably works this way on all
versions.

Subject: [foxboro] Foxview Environments Solaris and Windoze

Starting to place some Windoze boxes out in the field for Operations and
=3D3D
having a little trouble getting Foxview environments to work the same as
=3D3D
they work on Solaris.
For example placing the following in the .mbr on Solaris works but not
=3D3D
on XP.=3D3D20
button=3D09-1 Menu=3D09=3D09/usr/disp/MainMenu=3D09#Opens up the Menu for
the Unit which =3D3D
is an fdf file.
button=3D09-1 Detail=3D09""stddisp $$PICK1""=3D09#Opens up a Detail
Display of the =3D3D
selected point.

How do I make this functionality work in XP without having to use a .mnu
=3D3D
or the .dbr.

Thanks,
