You might try: == {GRP}. . If {GRP} resolves to an empty sting then dot (.) equals dot (.) Make sense? I have 2 alias named {GRP} and {TRD} that the user resolves using the filename of the group display {GRP} or Trend display {TRD} that they want to open when the user hits the GROUP or TREND button on the overlay. The problem is that this doesn't work unless I resolve it with something so I use 'NULL' and check for 'NULL' in the script i.e. == {GRP} NULL ..... Is there any script command that can check for 'nothing' rather than having to resolve to 'NULL'? Or is there any way to pre-define the alias to 'NULL'? Thanks in advance, Richard Coon Application Engineer *richard.m.coon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:richard.m.coon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ExxonMobil BES / Beaumont Area Engineering Specialists Beaumont Polyethylene Plant (BPEP) Beaumont, TX 77713 '(409) 860-2214 Office _______________________________________________________________________ This mailing list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Invensys Process Systems (formerly The Foxboro Company).
