Issue #2
Printer online offline usually occurs because Printer type is not correct or
configuration issue.
Key files:
D:/etc/printers (is correct type in that file)
D:/usr/fox/sp/files/cs_cfg/pars (is correct type, port, etc..... correct in
that file)
Lastly.....Device Monitor configuration.
Device Monitor could be marking the Printer as Failed and then Good as a
destination...
This can be due to wrong type, current master may not have been committed so
doesn’t have accurate system layout etc.....
D:/usr/fox/cs
Run dm_recon d to create a cs_dm.current file on the current Device Monitor
host
Who is the host?
/opt/fox/bin/tools/glof -p DEV_MONITOR (to get the mac address of host)
Then fist AW's to find the mac address match.
If it matches the AW you are on ...then the cs_dm.current file will give you
status
A dm_recon t from any AW will have that AW takeover as DevMon master.

attempt, Jesse has 2 issues…
The 1st issue is his attempt to send an email and it is being garbled, see
below. I know others have had this same problem but I never did, so I am not
sure of the fix. Maybe it is just an issue with Hotmail but could someone help
him fix this issue with his Hotmail account?

The 2nd issue is a problem he is having at a plant that is trying to start up
but they need to resolve some Foxboro IA System issues 1st. The email info he
is trying to send to the list is below…
Has anyone run into the problem of putting a line printer online with SMDH.
The printer LP02 works as LP02, but not alarms. It appears offline under
system management. Goes online for a few seconds and then turns red again.
Configurations were done previously and appear correct , but don't know if
printer ever worked
Details:
System: I/A Series, Windows XP
Software: Version 8
Printer: OKI Microline 186 9- pin
Printer Name: LP02
SMDH: Hosted by WP0002- AW70NC
Online attempts= Goes online 10 seconds
SYSDEF: older and appears out of date.
IACC configuration: Compound and blocks appear to be configured properly,
with process alarms directed to group 1. Printer LP02 is defined as Item 4 in
group 1.
Attempts/ results:
Windows XP Test page = OK (attached)
IACC changes= OK
SYSMON messages= OK
Process Alarms= do not work as configured.
