The device is an PML (now Schneider) ION power meter and it's communicating
through its com2 port whose protocol has been enabled as ethergate. There is
not choice around the use of the port #'s it is fixed as 7802. To do a
request, I must specify:
IP address port number slave ID
The outgoing request would be something like 172.20.16.93 port 7802 SlaveID 1
As far as I can tell can't change that

Have you considered setting up port forwarding in the gateway? Most will allow
you to do this.

I have a modbus device that requires me to specify a particular port (7802)
slave ID=1 when reading / writing parameters. Is there an option to set a
specific port (not 502) and modbus slave ID in the ECB 201 block.
The driver works fine for standard Ethernet devices but addressing a serial
device behind a gateway is a little more tricky. I can make it work using
modbus poll but no luck with FBM232 driver
