Larry, There are two items on the IPS Global Client Support site that you may want to take a look at. The first is a "Customer Advisory" on DST issues. It is dated 10-27-08. Also, there is a QF1008617 that also may be of value to you. I can email you both if you don't have access or didn't receive the QF notice. One thing that the Advisory suggests is shutting down your historian one hour before you adjust the clock backwards. After the time adjustment restart your historian. As far as automating the process I don't believe it's possible. It checked the PI server time and verify that they synced, if not reset the Foxboro box to match. This handle the Daylight Savings time change fine. I was told that this would not work on the new machine. As in we would lose data in our AIM* historian (overwrite or leave a one hour gap depending on spring or fall). We only use the AIM * for an operator visual info at their control console trending and such. We use PI as our data collection and report historian, (one reason because it can handle DST with out overwriting data. Anyway, our current plan is to just have the operator reset system time @ 2:00AM on 11/10. Any ideas on how to do this better or automate it as we had in the past. Since these are both are windows machines I figure it should be pretty easy. Our current settings on our machines are P91 GMT with the time set to local. PI Server GMT - 9:00 (Alaska) and set to auto adjust DST. Thank you for your support.
