Question when performing a LoadAll on a recovered workstation I/A v8.4.2, since
it has been a while.
If we perform a LoadAll from a disk/USB drive, would we need to worry about
checkpointing the CP following the LoadAll? The concern is that with a running
plant we would not want to cause any process disruption.
The customer's EW has a hard drive that may be failing. The last backup was
~2018 and if they are unable to perform a backup of their current configuration
of the EW, they would need to recover the 2018 image to a spare workstation or
to new HDs installed in the existing EW. With the older image they would also
need to perform a LoadAll of the CPs from their latest saveall to incorporate
the configuration changes performed in the last 3 years.
Will the LoadAll reinitialize any blocks or will it just load it to the
StationFile for the CP to access the next time it needs it?
Is there anything else they should be mindful of during the recovery?
Thank you,
Dave
