Mark Dumond contributed a new application to the Cassandra Project archive recently. It's a client/server app that allows remote access to the Foxboro ICCAPI without having to run one of those X emulators. See Mark's note below for a little more details on this utility. You can download it from the Cassandra web site with this link: http://www.thecassandraproject.org/archive2.html#config and look for Remote Control Configurator. It seems like a cool tool, I will have to find some time to try it out. Thanks, Mark! The implementation is basically a client/server setup, and is essentially a Visual-Basic GUI for Foxboro's ICCAPI. This also works very well with WP70/AW51x hybrid systems. Windows Look and Feel: Provides familiar Windows "Look and Feel," such as copy and paste functionality for parameter entry, and Tree-Views for Compound-Block browsing. Multiple Simultaneous ICC Sessions: Allows more than one ICC session per AW/AP host, unlike the standard ICC, which only allows one session per host. There can be as many open sessions as the number of CPs on the system. Cross-Referencing: Provides Cross-Referencing abilities. Any Foxboro block can be cross-referenced to show all other blocks, displays, and historians that are connected to it, even while editing the block (This is not available on standard Foxboro ICC). For more information on it, see the attached "Features.doc" document. It includes some program snapshots. We have been using this package and enhancing it for two years for internal use (here at FeedForward), and thought that it would be useful for others. In particular, the cross-referencing abilities. - Mark Dumond Feed Forward, Inc _____________________________________________________________________ This message has been checked for all known viruses by the MessageLabs Virus Scanning Service.
