Greetings to all,

Here is another excellent article by bro. Daniel Parks;

*“IT IS FINISHED!” MEANS ... “IT IS FINISHED!”*
When the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ shouted in His dying breath “It is finished!” (John 19:30), He spoke regarding the redemption of the sinners for whom He died (among other things).
When He said “It is /finished/!” He meant “It is /finished/!” The redemption of every soul for whom He died was /completed/, /perfected/, /accomplished/, /achieved/, /finalized/.
Therefore, every soul for whom Jesus Christ died was redeemed through His shed blood (Acts 20:28; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18f; Revelation 5:9). Not one single solitary soul for whom Jesus Christ died will perish in his sins, be condemned and consigned to everlasting punishment.
False teachers aver otherwise. They say He meant:
• “It is finished /hypothetically/! – as in “I made redemption possible for everyone.”
• “It is finished /partly/! – as in “I have done My part, but now you must do yours in order to be redeemed.”
• “It is finished /conditionally/!” – as in “I have redeemed you if meet the condition to make your redemption effectual.”
According to them:
• Jesus Christ is a /hypothetical/ redeemer, not an /actual/ redeemer.
• Jesus Christ, in and of and by Himself, secured the redemption of no one.
• Jesus Christ was saying “It is /not/ finished until /you/ say ‘It is finished!’”
They therefore believe that all who perish in their sins do so despite all that Jesus Christ did to redeem them from their sins.
They err!
For when Jesus Christ said “It is finished!” He meant “It is /finished/” – /actually, completely, perfectly, effectually, unconditionally, absolutely, everlastingly, immutably, ... period!/”
“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so!” (Psalm 107:2)
