Senior Reservoir Engineer

The Shell Group's exploration and/or production interests are in some 46
countries. Of these, some 30 comprise producing interests (which usually
include some additional exploration activities); and the remainder are
exploration only. The spread of interests is global, with operations in
every region.
Sabah Business Unit (EPS) is one of the Business Units in Sarawak Shell
Berhad, Lutong that is actively pursuing E&P activities in offshore Sabah
Waters. It operates in a production sharing contract (PSC) environment with
PETRONAS (Malaysian Petroleum National Company), and has approximately 400
staff of multi-disciplinary and multi-nationality. Oil is the main source of
income and Sabah Business Unit is committed to expand through development
and commercialisation of discovered gas. The Team comprises
multi-disciplinary professionals, responsible for sweating the Oil Assets,
Sabah Gas Development, Gas Holding Commitment and Deepwater Exploration
Activities.

The candidate will be a member of one of following multi-disciplinary teams:
*The Kinabalu Production Opportunities Team responsible for providing
specialist reservoir engineering support to the sub-surface group (this
includes the implementation of Kinabalu Round 2 drilling, Kinabalu East and
Deep field development planning and execution, pressure maintenance as well
as potential gas development opportunities and natural gas liquid (NGL)
extraction). *The South Furious/St. Joseph Team or *The Barton Production
Opportunities Team, both of which are responsible for providing specialist
reservoir engineering support to studies, surveillance, field development
planning, infill drilling plans, production enhancement, pressure
maintenance planning and reserves management. The role may also involve
mentoring of young reservoir engineers and will entail sharing of knowledge
and experience with other colleagues in the Petroleum Engineering Skill
Pool.

The candidate will need: *A degree (B.Sc.) in Petroleum Engineering or
relevant qualification. *At least 5 years of hands-on reservoir engineering
experience with a thorough understanding of relevant principles for both oil
and gas fields. *Experience in Reservoir Modelling/Simulation. *Coaching and
mentoring skills essential to help develop young reservoir engineers. *Good
interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and pleasant
personality to support and share knowledge and experience with members in
the Petroleum Engineering Skills Pool.

every region. The Group's structure comprises service companies,
predominantly located in The Hague, London Houston and operating companies,
responsible for their own long term profitability and business success.
Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) is actively pursuing exploration and production
activities both on land and in the off shore waters of Brunei. The majority
(90%) of its oil and gas comes from seven offshore fields. BSP has an asset
based structure, with assets team covering the geographical area, Offshore
East, Offshore West and Land, and Hydrocarbon processing. These units
comprise of integrated multi- disciplinary surface and sub surface teams
responsible for maximising economic oil recovery, developing of new hydro
carbon reserves and supporting exploration activities (including deep water)

You will be a member of a multi-discipline subsurface team providing
comprehensive production engineering support to the Asset team. This will
include optimising production potential of existing wells, identifying
infill development opportunities in existing fields and supporting new field
development activities by implementing the appropriate (new) well technology
to maximise the hydrocarbon recovery and minimising the well life cycle
costs.

You will be a qualified to degree level in Petroleum Engineering or another
relevant degree and have a minimum of 5 years hands-on Production
Engineering experience encompassing well & completion design, production
optimisation, and production enhancement (including stimulation,
treatments). Experience with relevant industry modelling software (e.g. flow
performance, stress analysis, production optimisation) is required, with the
ability to learn new (Shell) software. You will require strong technical and
analytical skills and ability to communicate complex well and field
performance issues to team members and stakeholders as well as have the
ability to coach and mentor young engineers.

The company is actively implementing new technologies to maximise the value
from fields, as such this position offers the opportunity to gain exposure
to intelligent wells and fields, designer wells (snake designs and connector
wells) and expandable sand screens. Opportunities also exist to enhance your
experience in brown field optimisation, new fields development and
leadership skills. (e.g. coordinating the sub surface team). After
