Yeah, Mike Holmes was a free spirit. What I remember about him (and correct me
Edo if I'm wrong) was that either his father or grandfather had developed and
manufactured a towing system that was widely used on tow trucks.... you could
see them everywhere, had a big "HOLMES" across the top. So, Mike didn't want
for financial resources... had a pretty new Camaro IIRC. I don't know how long
into our fish year he lasted, but I do know he didn't return in the fall of '74.

Subject: [fighting_texas_aggie_band_class_of_1977] Mike Holmes + others, leper
colony
Mike Holmes was indeed a member of our fish class. He lived in Dorm 9, the
leper colony, so not a great location for long term memories. He was from
Killeen.
I don't remember if he finished our fish year. But I do not remember him during
our soph year at all. He was buddies with Richard Stuntz. Mike was a rock &
roll fan and built his own amps and big box speakers. He liked hippie music,
like me & Stuntz. He also liked fresh air. Schwennsen will know what I mean.
Other leper colony residents 73-74, may recall Mike. I did not recognize the
other names.
Other fish lepers that did not finish with us: Richard DeWeese from Dallas,
Grady Manning drum major Plano high school, Mark Irwin, Dan Sullivan EE major
from Bloomfield, New Jersey, Chip Munroe from Houston. Of course we all
remember Howard Tomlinson. Being in Dorm 9 was its own kind of bonding.

And here's a name or two from the AFS Find an Aggie, that aren't on either list.
David M. "Mike" Holmes '77 - Holmes. That sounds vaguely familiar.
John P. Williams '77 - Did make one list, but I don't recall him
Joe B. Anders '77 (deceased)
August J. Hebert Jr. '77 (deceased) shows '77 as year received MS degree
Mary L. "Mary Lee" (McCullough) Marschall '77 - did someone have surgery we
didn't know about?
I think it's likely that some of these were Symphonic Band, and simply hit the
wrong entry on their profile.
The weirdest thing is that several names came up in the search, but when you go
to their profile, "Aggie Band" is not in their profile. Some of those had
mailing addresses inBANDera, or nearby Pipe Creek, so I assume that's where
they made the list.
