dp A bill that would make daylight saving time year-round appears dead. At
least for this year. The Senate surprisingly and unanimously passed a bill
earlier this year to make DST permanent all year, starting in Nov. 2023. The
measure was on track to become law, but it has now stalled in the House. Some
even wonder if the swift passage was a fluke, since it caught many senators off
guard at the time. Still, it’s almost certain lawmakers will try again, since
the movement to have more daylight at night in the winter months has grown on
Capitol Hill.
