that has been siting there for years. The Dniester River defines the boundary
between Moldova and Ukraine. A tiny piece of Moldova is on the wrong side of
the river, Transdniestria. The folks who live there have split loyalty.
Due to the potential for armed conflict, Russia parked an army between the 2
sides to keep peace. This was before my 1997 visit.DP
