Subject: [fhs-65] Hawk?
Spotted this fine feathered friend quite some distance from the house, way up
in a tree. Had to get out the binoculars and extend the camera's telephoto
lens to see/photo it, in spite of the fact that it appeared to be a very large
bird. I'm just assuming it is a hawk.
Any of you birders care to guess what it is? I looked around but only found
pictures close to that of the Sharp-shinned hawk, however, it was described as
being the smallest of the hawks. Tail seemed a little different too. This
handsome fellow two houses away appeared to us to be quite large. It also
looked huge when it flew off.
Suggestions?
