I thought he lived in Minnesota and just vacationed in Texas. Or am I thinking
about someone else? Such a tragedy.

Oh that’s so sad. He was a really nice guy. Turns out we lived not far from
each other in CT but never knew it until he was already in Texas. Wasn’t he a
part of this group? Jane

Wow, that's a shocker. I knew Dave pretty well as we went to grade school and
church together (Immanuel Lutheran). My mom had his younger siblings in her
Kindergarten classes. It seems like his death was pretty sudden.Donna

Daughenbaugh
This news saddened us, and I mean us both, as Oki knew Dave too.
We were on a date at the NCO Club at Osan Air Base fifty some years ago
one night. Oki had a base pass as a civilian contractor and her older
sister, who was married to a Tech Sargent that had just transferred to a
base in Germany, had a dependent base pass.
We were in the club dining room eating dinner and Oki's Sister, who
hadn't left yet to join her husband, found us there as she had been in
the club's casino (she had a bit of a gambling problem). She was telling
us that she had a friend in the casino who was from Freeport, so when we
finished we went into the casino to see who it was. Turned out to be
Dave, whom I knew pretty well, sitting at a slot machine.
I thought how strange. Half way around the world in a small country in
an NCO club and here is a friend and classmate. I often relate this as
my "small world" story. So sorry to loose Dave - one of the good guys.
