What about a spot cleaner? Might be too harsh for old fabric though.
I’d be afraid washing (even by hand) might make the dark blue run into the red.
Definitely cold water if you try it.
Pillow is adorable!

Oh, how special.  Stuffing--avoid cut up pantihose--remember when we used to do
that?  Avoid any foam rubber but the poly stuffing out there should work well.
As far as cleaning--with the satin and velveteen - two unique fabrics--not sure
I would dry clean either.  Just washing by hand may be ok--but it would need to
be pressed and that would be a problem.  I have never used the drycleaner stuff
that is put into the dryer---anyone out there try one of those kits?  Perhaps a
good airing out!

For the sewers in the group.  I am attaching a photo of a cat pillow my grandma
Cusick made for me when I was a kid.  The insides have turned crunchy and it
needs cleaning.  The red is satin and the blue velveteen.  I plan to remove the
stuffing, clean and restuff.  What is the best way to clean it?  I’m afraid a
dry cleaner might ruin it.  It’s about 60 years old.  Also, is there any type
of stuffing I should avoid?
