...or you could just run Drupal on your phone for geek cred.

Yes there are smaller packages available and I will be exploring those on the next install. I had it installed on a 4 gb flash drive and it used up everything, all space and ram! So next time I will user smaller packages! I look forward to getting this up and running. My needs have actually changed since trying lamp so I may just go back to default pogo to see how that goes for my family file sharing needs.

I would think 256mb is enough for a small installation. Do you have any external storage connected that you could use to enable a swap partition/file? Maybe try a small usb flash drive if nothing else is connected?

You could always try to use lighttpd or something else a little lighter than apache too (assuming there is a package available for it.) I find it much more straight forward to config if you don't need all of the features that apache provides.

In any case, thanks for the warning!

Tony

dont install lamp on it, only has 256mb of ram and it crashes! I have mine sitting here waiting for me to reflash it so I can start using it

Since I know we've discussed these before, buy.com has the pogoplug pro for $27.99 w/ free shipping right now.

Ever do anything fun and exciting with yours, Chuq?
