*Agricultural Literacy Academy*
This workshop series is hosted at Ohio Dominican University every Monday
from 6-8 in Erskin Hall room 203 through next March, with the goal of
having participants write a business plan and application for a USDA micro

*Ohio Food Policy Summit *
All stakeholders involved in food system work around the state are invited
to attend this annual event, held this year on November 6th at OSU.

*Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch *
October 12th was the 4th annual Apple Crunch Day and in Columbus
highlighted recent Farm-to-School success in bringing Ohio apples to school
cafeterias, soon to be seen in Columbus City Schools! Read more about the

*Local Food Action Plan *
The Local Food Team - housed in Columbus Public Health and Franklin County
Economic Development and Planning - along with the newly created Local Food
Board held their first Board meeting over the summer and are now taking
steps toward implementation of the Local Food Action Plan

*Stinner Summit*
The 11th Annual Stinner Summit was held on September 29th. This event
brings people from around Ohio together to develop projects for healthy
agroecosystems and sustainable communities. At the end of the day the
attendees vote on the project(s) they would like to see receive funding,
which is provided by the Ben Stinner Endowment. For more information, visit

*Franklin County Public Health CSA *
FCPH piloted a successful CSA this summer and are looking to host the
program again next year, expanding to the South Side.
*Volunteer with Urban Farms of Central Ohio *
Join UFCO this coming Saturday, October 28th at Clarfield Farm from
9:30am-12noon as they get beds prepped for winter. Sign up by contacting

*Koki's Tortillas Sourcing Local*
The Columbus-based tortilla company is now sourcing Ohio corn, with support
from the Local Food Action Team. Look for their tortillas in stores all
around the city!
*Initiative for Food and AgriCultural Transformation (InFACT) Seed Grant*
Three application cycles are coming up for the Linkage and Leverage grant
funds during the 2017-18 year, the first of which is October 31st. See the

*MORPC Summit on Sustainability *

- which brings hundreds of community leaders together to explore and share
sustainable ideas and solutions, and to celebrate individual and

*Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) Women's Group*
The Coalition of Immokalee Workers <http://www.ciw-online.org/> and the CIW
Women's Group were in Columbus on October 16th-23rd to kick off the Harvest
Without Violence Campaign, urging Wendy's decision-makers to bring the
company into the Fair Food Program and help end gender-based violence in
the fields.
