Cearbhall
Sorry it has taken me so long to come back on this. Life took over
I mention "Zoom" as an app. I do indeed mean "Zoom text"? That is of course a
visual magnification reader with built in voice, Sure is and at a time in my
life it was great. Often wondered what replaced it or indeed it could still be
out there been used
I forgot about meeting last Monday so hopefully not tomorrow and if anybody has
thoughts on
Blind square and how best to maximise its uses
I would love to hear them. Bert thanks for the pod casts they were excellent on
it but listening to them it is assuming I think that everybody uses face book
as they want you to register to benefit from the part called full square
Ideas welcomed
Tom

Tom,
I'm so glad you enjoyed the meeting. It is inspiring to share with everyone
else how they use apps and other technology.
Bit by bit we will cover everything together. If you keep coming to the
meetings you will be surprised how you can, eventually, get an answer to
everything that you have wrestled with.
You mention "Zoom" as an app. Do you mean "Zoomtext"? That is a visual
magnification reader with built in voice, isn't it?
All the best,
Cearbhall

Hi all
It was good to take part in this morning's chat on zoom with everybody. What
struck me about the chat is the extent of knowledge that is out there amongst
the vip community that were taking part today and I would publically like to
thank all for sharing that wealth of information with us that have less
knowledge in this area
A couple of topics in particular caught my interest voice dream scanner and
all that comes with it
Jaws whether we should stick with what we have or upgrade or be caught out
badly financially if we don’t upgrade
Thirdly the ins and outs of n v d a whether good or bad
Blind square and how best to maximise its uses
Zoom which I can no longer use but that so many do use who are in the beginning
stage of their journey from starting to loose their eyesight maybe through
Retinitis pigmentosa to reaching the point that I am now at having no vision
Can anybody tell me and maybe tell others is there already out there and
available a pod cast, a simple audio file or anything on audio that the likes
of me could access to learn more about any of the above topics
Would somebody consider doing an audio demo on blind square or voice dream
scanner for a future Monday chat. Don’t do it though if there is one out there
already

Hi Jackie, all,
Great to see such a benefit for you that's for sure.
It got me thinking, how does the scanner behave in general in the reading of
newspapers?
Also sometimes in Facebook for example you get what they call a photo which is
usually some sort of text, (PDF-like tyep) some might see it.
There was such writing we came across last evening and even a sighted person
had difficulty in making it out!
So any more info of what folk can 'see' with the Voice Dream scanner
would be great.
Best,
Tony Sweeney-like)

downloaded the voice dream at home app which includes, the reader and
scanner for €10.099, I haven't yet worked with the reader but all i can say
is wow, oh, wow, on the scanner. I got it to read the instruction label of
my vertigo tablets and it read it 100% perfectly. This is the first time any
scanning app has read this as perfect. Me, myself and I would recommend this
app, so thanks Declan for posting the link, its currently great value.
