Hi,
I promise to look for a means of controlling the speaking of headings by
voiceover so that "level 2" or "level 4" is not spoken all the time.
I cannot find any means of doing this. If anyone else has a solution, please
share it - we'd all love to hear less speech coming from the structure of the
web page.
I did find some discussion of this question and I must say that I agree with
the writer who asked: "Why would you turn off the indication of the type of
heading?" For me, this information is an essential part of the structure of
the document or web page. I expect a Heading level 1 to be used at the
principal part of the page where a subject is beginning. I find it most
confusing if a Level 4 is used before a Level 2, for example. This often
happens where someone is using headings for decorative purposes and it messes
up an understanding of the structure of the page.
However, if a person has partial sight and can clearly understand the
structure of the page, having to listen to "Level This" and "level that"
might be quite annoying and so there is a point in asking the question.
Have you any ideas on this?
All the best,
Cearbhall
